Dominion has committed to creating and posting 22 new full-time positions with the first year after ratification.

Workers at Loblaw Cos. Ltd.-owned Dominion grocery stores in Newfoundland and Labrador have ratified a new collective agreement.

Unifor represents more than 1,600 workers at 11 Dominion stores across the province.

The union said the new five-year agreement sees wage increases of $4.50 per hour for full-time workers and $3.20 per hour for part-time workers at the end rate – representing up to 23% higher wages.

It also includes signing bonuses, a reduction in the number of hours needed for part-time workers to maintain eligibility for health benefits and increases to paramedical benefit coverage.

Dominion also committed to creating and posting 22 new full-time positions with the first year after ratification as part of the deal.

The new agreement expires Oct. 28, 2028.
