This year's show features new pavilions aimed at high-growth categories. For instance, the Visa Global Food Festival area focuses on the growing international food scene and trends in Asian, South Asian and other global grocery goods.

Grocery retailers looking for more local products can head to the Choose Ontario pavilion for inspiration from farm-fresh Ontario pork to goat milk products from the province.

For those looking for greener choices, the Sustain Lane pavilion will showcase the latest environmentally friendly options.

Another new highlight of Grocery Innovations will be the first-ever Supermarket Chef Showdown featuring top chefs from Longo’s, Pusateri’s, Galleria Supermarket and Summerhill Market. They’ll be challenged to create a HMR dish with a secret ingredient. Tony Chapman a judge on TV's Recipe to Riches is hosting and the event, designed to help give grocers some ideas for the growing HMR category.

Also, new products from the Innovative New Products Showcase will be chosen to pitch to key grocery buyers, live on the trade floor at GIC’s “Pitch to Win” contest.
