Niagara Falls, Ont. just got its first Costco.

The 155,343-square-foot new build warehouse opened Friday morning. An existing Costco warehouse in neighbouring St. Catharines will be converted into a Costco Business Centre next year.

The Niagara Falls warehouse features an on-site bakery, fresh meat and rotisserie chicken sections, and an extensive produce area. It also includes a food court, tire centre, pharmacy and an optical centre with an independent optometrist. It has 12 checkout registers and six self-checkout stations.

“With the opening of this new warehouse, we can serve all of our members in Niagara, St. Catharines and surrounding area, and can bring new consumers and businesses to uncover the benefits of a Costco membership,” said Pierre Riel, senior vice-president and country manager, Costco Wholesale Canada, in a press release.
