A sold-out crowd of executives from across the grocery industry gathered at the Fairmont Royal York in Toronto Nov. 19 for the 9th annual Thought Leadership CEO conference.

The half-day event included a research presentation from Sylvain Perrier of Mercatus on the evolving state of e-grocery in North America, while Nielsen's Carman Allison offered a glimpse at what the future store could look like.

Then, Tony Chapman moderated a panel discussion with Eataly’s Ennio Perrone, Darrell Jones from Save-On-Foods and Anthony Longo of Longo’s. The executives touched on everything from data, to the in-store experience and the importance of treating staff right.

The conference concluded with a cocktail reception sponsored by Sleeman and Jackson Triggs.
