The Retail Council of Canada has unveiled the short list for its annual new product awards

The finalists for the Canadian Grand Prix New Product Awards have been named.
A total of 124 products made the short list in the 28th edition of the Retail Council of Canada’s annual award. The products making the cut were launched in the Canadian market in 2019 and come from both established and new suppliers as well as smaller boutiques and family-owned retailers from across the country.
This year’s jury consisted of 33 food and grocery experts who judged the entries based on innovation, taste, experience and packaging. To become a finalist, a product had to receive a score of at least 70%.
“Canadians spent more time at home in 2020 than ever in recent memory.” said Diane J. Brisebois, president and CEO, Retail Council of Canada, in a press release. “Canadians are craving products to prepare at home that satisfy their needs for flavour adventures. They are looking for new taste experiences from dishes made with high quality ingredients and that can appeal to various taste preferences. “
Winners will be announced during a virtual gala held June 3. Here is the full list of 2020 Grand Prix finalists:
