2021 CPMA New Product Showcase winners announced

Innovative produce products were celebrated as part of a virtual competition

Canadian Produce Marketing Association (CPMA) has announced the winner's of the 2021 New Product Showcase.

This year's competition was held virtually as part of CPMA’s Fresh Week virtual trade show and conference.

Chosen by a team of judges consisting of industry and media members, this year’s winners were:

Best New Product – The Star Group’s New Inspired Salads

Packaging Innovation – Mucci Farms' Naked Leaf Living Basil

Best Snackable Product – LOOP Missions’ Probiotic Sodas

Organic Product – EarthFresh’s Organic Golden, Red & Russet Potatoes Best

New Technology -- UNITEC Canada Fruit and Vegetables Technology Inc. for Cherry Vision 3.0

New Inspired Salads are crafted with premium ingredients and freshly made dressings and are available in two new recipes: The BLT Caesar with whipped dill dressing, and Superfood Salad with refreshing lemon honey vinaigrette. Open, flip, shake and enjoy!

Mucci Farms Naked Leaf Living Basil takes sustainability to a new level. The basil is packed in a sleeve made of 50% paper with a compostable growing pot and a re-usable exterior pot.

LOOP’s new line of Probiotic Sodas contains 40% fresh pressed juice from rescued fruits and veggies and two-plus billion probiotics.

EarthFresh Organic Golden, Red & Russet Potatoes come in eye-catching 10-lb. paper bags. EarthFresh offers exclusive varieties that grow very well in organic conditions--looking and tasting even better than traditional varieties.

Using high-resolution cameras to scan the surface of the fruit, Cherry Vision 3.0 selects cherries based on external quality, internal quality as well as optical size and colour.
