2026 Star Women in Grocery Award Winner Lauren Sittler (Q&A)
Lauren Sittler
Sales Director
Yoplait Liberté Canada
How did you get your start in CPG?
My interest in CPG was sparked during an information session I attended in university, where I was quickly drawn to the unique mix of strategy, creativity and fast-paced execution the industry requires. I started my career at Procter & Gamble, where I spent more than a decade building a strong foundation in brand development, commercial strategy and disciplined execution. Over time, I realized I was especially passionate about the food industry and the direct connection it creates with consumers. That led me to join Yoplait Liberté Canada, where I’ve had the opportunity to help shape the future of the business and contribute to building a strong culture during a defining chapter for the organization.
What is your leadership philosophy?
My leadership philosophy is centred on empowering people and building strong, high-trust teams grounded in respect, integrity, transparency and accountability. I believe my role as leader is to create clarity and alignment, while giving people the confidence, support and autonomy needed to do their best work and grow. Strong leadership also requires humility and adaptability; being willing to listen, learn, and adjust, while also knowing when to provide direction and make decisions. Ultimately, I aim to create an environment where people feel empowered to challenge themselves, take initiative and make a meaningful impact.
Who do you aspire to be as a leader?
I aspire to be a leader who is trusted not only for my results, but also for how I show up every day. Because of this, I believe leadership should be deeply human. That means being approachable, adaptable and leading by example. I strive to “walk the talk” consistently and authentically, while bringing positive energy and clarity. Even in high-pressure moments, I want people to feel supported, motivated, and confident that we’re moving forward together. I also believe in bringing a sense of energy and fun to work, creating an environment where people feel motivated and excited to do great things together. Building strong teams and delivering ambitious results are even more meaningful when people genuinely enjoy the experience along the way.
What keeps you passionate about your work?
The opportunity to be part of building something meaningful at a pivotal moment for Yoplait Liberté Canada. Joining the organization during a major transition has been incredibly energizing, giving me the opportunity to help shape the work, culture, operating model and long-term vision of the organization. Equally, I’m fortunate to work alongside a highly diverse and talented team that is deeply committed to the momentum we’re building together. That combination of building, learning and collaborating with exceptional people is what continues to drive my passion every day.
What excites you about the CPG business?
What excites me most about CPG is the end-to-end nature of the work, and the direct connection between what we build as cross-functional teams and the impact it has on people’s everyday lives. Success in CPG depends on sales, marketing, operations and supply chain collaborating to solve problems and bring ideas to life. What makes it especially meaningful is seeing that collective effort translate into something tangible on shelf, in store and ultimately to people’s daily lives and routines. Nothing is more rewarding than hearing someone say, “I love your brand” and knowing they genuinely connect with something you helped bring to life.
What’s a fun fact about you?
I’ve been performing improv for over a decade, both locally and internationally. It’s an amazing creative outlet I’ve enjoyed because it challenges you to stay present, listen closely and build on what others bring to the table. Interestingly, many of those same skills show up in sales every day—adaptability, quick thinking, collaboration, and approaching situations with a “yes, and” mindset.
