As demand for delivery continues to boom, 7-Eleven Canada is launching its proprietary delivery app, 7Now, in Canada
"Our delivery business in Canada has grown 10-fold from a year ago,” Norman Hower, VP and general manager of 7-Eleven Canada, told Canadian Grocer's sister publication Convenience Store News Canada in a recent interview.
With 7Now, which first rolled out in the U.S. in 2018, 7-Eleven Canada now offers 24/7 pick-up and delivery within 30 minutes.
With more than 900 menu items, including grocery, meals, home essentials and snacks, Hower says the Canadian adaptation unlocks “greater flexibility to meet customer needs.”
In addition to a broadened assortment of menu items, the app can be linked to the 7Reward customer loyalty program, opening up promotional opportunities linked to delivery orders.
To encourage Canadian downloads of 7Now, 7-Eleven is promoting free delivery and free Slurpee drinks in June, and a campaign on digital, social and traditional media highlighted 24/7 availability, as well as an average 30-minute delivery time.
The 7Now app works by auto-locating a customer’s location, placing the order at the nearest participating 7-Eleven store (the brand has more than 600 stores nationwide) and having it delivered by courier. Real-time tracking lets customers know when to expect their order.
