Adonis on track to open new Ontario store this summer

Adonis’s new supermarket in London, Ont. is on track to open this summer.

The 46,000 square-foot store—first announced in October 2023—will be located at the Westwood Power Centre.

It will be the Metro-owned Middle Eastern grocer’s fifth in Ontario and 16th overall.

Shoppers can expect to find an extensive selection of international products including specialities from Lebanon, the Middle East, North Africa and other Mediterranean countries, as well as Halal fresh meats.

The grocer’s signature fresh pita will be baked daily in store via an open-view production line that can produce an average of 15,000 pitas per day.

“We are excited to bring Adonis’ unique offering to London and to be part of this vibrant and diverse community,” said Éric Provost, VP at Adonis, in a press release. “Providing customers with an exceptional shopping experience, quality products and an authentic taste is what we’re all about. By visiting our various departments, customers will be able to discover new and rich culinary traditions from all over the Mediterranean region.”

Adonis said it sources a “significant percentage” of its meats, poultry and other products from Canadian suppliers, with much of its fresh produce coming from local farmers.

The new store will employ 150 people.
