Supermarket Superstar sets out to find a new product for the shelf

Joining the ranks of Canada's hit reality show Recipe to Riches, there's a new U.S. show that is giving every day Americans the chance to get their product on supermarket shelves.

Supermarket Superstar, on the Lifetime channel, will debut July 22, with each one-hour episode following three home chefs as they pitch their product concepts to food big-wigs like cookie mogul Debbi Fields of Mrs. Fields Cookies.

Like Recipe to Riches, the show follows food from concept to consumption, with finalists presenting their produce to the CEO of The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company.

The ultimate winner will get $10,000 in prize money and $100,000 worth of product development advice, and the product in A&P stores across the U.S.
