Anuga, the biennial trade fair for the global food industry, is now open for registration.

The event takes place October 5-9, in Cologne, Germany.

Some 155,000 top-decision makers of the global retail trade and foodservice and catering markets from 180 countries attended Anuga 2011. The 2011 expo featured 6,700 exhibitors, from 100 countries.

This year, these 10 specialized trade show segments will be featured at the 284,000-square-foot Koelnmesse exhibition centre: bread and bakery; hot beverages; chilled and fresh foods; dairy; drinks; fine food; foodservice; frozen food; meat; organic; and RetailTec (for retail technologies).

The top 10 trends that will be highlighted at this year's show will be: finger food, gourmet products and regional specialties; halal food; health and functional food; ingredients; kosher products; organic products; private label; vegetarian products; and fair trade products.
