Baby Gourmet sells to the Hero Group

Baby Gourmet has been acquired by the Hero Group. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The Calgary-based organic baby food company was founded by sisters Jennifer Carlson and Jill Vos--who will remain at "the helm as officers and shareholders of the company," according to a press release--in 2005.

"After 15 years of building Canada’s leading organic baby food brand, Jill and I are thrilled to launch our next phase of growth with Hero," said Jennifer Carlson, CEO & co-founder of Baby Gourmet, in the release. "With our shared values, Hero is the perfect home for Baby Gourmet; a place where we can continue to develop our beloved, mission-driven brand."

Baby Gourmet joins the Hero Group's portfolio of baby and toddler food and milks, natural spreads and healthy snacks.  The acquisition will help expand Baby Gourmet’s footprint across North America.
