California-based Beyond Meat’s first plant-based pork alternative product, Beyond Sausage, is hitting store shelves at major grocery retailers across Canada. Made from simple plant-based ingredients without GMOs, soy or gluten, Beyond Sausage sausage link is available in two flavours Mild Italian and Hot Italian. Peas and rice provide the protein, according to the company, while coconut oil ensures that juicy texture, beets provide the meaty colour, and the sausages are all wrapped inside a casing derived from algae.
