The Canada Grocery Code and the Dispute Resolution Management Process (DRMP) have been fully implemented, the Office of the Grocery Sector Code of Conduct (OGSCC) announced.

Major national grocery retailers like Costco Wholesale Canada Ltd., Empire Company Limited, Loblaw Inc., Metro Inc. and Walmart Canada have formally registered with the OGSCC, along with more than 150 other retailers and suppliers.

“This level of participation is a significant advancement for the voluntary Code,” said Karen Proud, president and adjudicator, the Office of the Grocery Sector Code of Conduct, in a press release. “The commitment from Canada’s largest grocery retailers sends a powerful signal about the industry’s readiness to embrace fairness and collaboration.”

The release also notes that support from Canada’s largest retailers is expected to encourage additional adoption from across the sector.
