The finalists for the Canadian Grand Prix New Product Awards have been named.
A total of 114 products made the short list in the 26th edition of the Retail Council of Canada's annual award. The products making the cut were launched in the Canadian market in 2018 and come from both established and new suppliers as well as retailers from across the country.
This year’s jury consisted of 28 food and grocery experts who judged the entries based on innovation, taste, experience and packaging. To become a finalist, a product had to receive a score of at least 70%.
"Canadians are craving genuine newness and retailers have delivered," said Diane J. Brisebois, president and CEO, Retail Council of Canada, in a press release announcing the finalists. "This year's products are outstanding and our panel of 28 judges were especially impressed with the quality and flavour profile of these new products."
Winners will be announced May 29 at the Grand Prix Gala at the Toronto Congress Centre, as part of the Store 2019 retail conference.
