Canadian Grocer receives 5 noms for best in business publishing

Last week, the Canadian Business Press and Magazines Canada announced Canadian Grocer received five Kenneth R. Wilson (KRW) Awards nominations recognizing excellence in business magazines.

Award organizers of the 58th annual event said they received more than 600 individual entries nationwide, and the 88 volunteer judges nominated a total of 152 submissions from 57 different Canadian B2B publications for awards in 20 written, visual and special categories.

Canadian Grocer’s team was nominated for:

-Best Cover (The Secret Life of Shoppers)

-Best Issue (125th Anniversary “The Interview Issue”)

-Best Merchandising/Marketing article (Inside Metro & Moi)

-Best Merchandising/Marketing article (Gone in 30 seconds)

-Best News Coverage (Irradiation is Back on the Table)

Canadian Grocer’s writer Chris Powell garnered the most individual nominations with 5, for his work in Canadian Grocer and Marketing.

Last year, Canadian Grocer was nominated for three KRW awards; with editor Rob Gerlsbeck winning Gold for  “best feature” for his cover story on Walmart Canada’s sustainability initiatives.

The winners will be announced at a gala at Toronto’s Carlu in Toronto on June 7.
