Canadian Grocer picked up four awards at the 60th annual Kenneth R. Wilson awards last Tuesday.

The KRWs celebrate excellence in business magazine publishing. From nearly 550 submissions nationwide, the KRW judges nominated 174 submissions from 69 different publications. Gold, silver and honourable mention awards were presented in 22 different categories.

Canadian Grocer was nominated for four awards, and won in all four categories it was nominated in, receiving two Gold and two Silver.

Managing editor, Nancy Kwon, won Gold in the Best Technology article category for her feature story on Sobeys’ high-tech warehouse (“A Brave New World”; February 2013 issue).

Art director Lindsay Maclachlan took home two awards that evening. She won Silver for the cover of Canadian Grocer’s November issue “Will Amazon take over the world?” and Gold for Best Art Direction in an opening spread (“Local Growers“, August 2013).

Local Growers proved to be a popular pick for the evening. Chris Dart, a contributor to the magazine, brought home a Silver for Best Feature article for the piece.

Canadian Grocer finished with the third highest number of KRW awards this year. Only CA Magazine and Up Here Business, finished with more.
