Canadians not that thrilled with Target so far

New survey finds shoppers complaining about high prices, low inventory

Target’s arrival in Canada in March came with hype and high expectations. After all, Canadians love Targay and have flocked to its stores Stateside for years.

But five months into the Canadian venture, shoppers don’t appear all that impressed with Target.

That’s according to a customer-satisfaction survey that ranked Target at the bottom of a list of major retailers.

Canadians, according to the survey, think Target’s prices are too high and that its stores often do not have enough inventory.

Costco was ranked No. 1 on the list of retailers and Walmart also did well. Forum Research conducted the survey.

“There was a lot of hype before Target entered the country,” Forum president Lorne Bozinoff told the Globe and Mail. “Now that people have shopped there, I think there is a bit of a letdown.”

It’s worth noting that Target says its own surveys show customer satisfaction is improving.
