The Quebec dairy cooperative has partnered with Loop Mission to create a "milkshake beer" using a milk by-product that would otherwise be thrown away.

Loop Mission is a Montreal-based company that specializes in juices, beers and even dog snacks made from imperfect fruits, vegetables and other food waste.

In a two-minute video posted to YouTube, Loop co-founder Julie Poitras-Saulnier explains how the partnership came to be and how the product is made. She is later joined by Agropur research and development manager Martine Surprenant. Check it out:
