Costco membership card goes digital
Members can create an account online and link it to the retailer's mobile app
Costco has moved its membership card
into the digital space.
Members in the U.S. and Canada can now create an account on Costco's website and connect it to the retailer's mobile app. Customers can present their membership car on the app when entering the store and also at checkout, according to its website.
The digital card cannot be used at Costco gas stations, however, so the plastic membership card is still required. And, there currently are no payment features within the app.
Shoppers can now renew their memberships through the app and also keep track of their rewards.
