Everything is bigger at Costco, including the new Costco.
At 155,733 square feet, the new warehouse in Anjou, Quebec is 20% larger than its previous location just down the road--which will be converted into a Costco Business Centre--and it has 125 more parking spots, too.
“With the opening of this new warehouse, we can serve all of our members in the Anjou and surrounding area and can bring new consumers and businesses to uncover the benefits of a Costco membership,” said Pierre Riel, senior vice-president and country manager, Costco Wholesale Canada.
Other features include an on-site bakery, fresh meat and rotisserie chicken sections, and an extensive produce area. It also includes a food court, tire centre, pharmacy and an optical centre with an independent optometrist.
The warehouse also includes more pallets, shopping carts and checkout registers than its original location and, new to the Anjou Costco experience, is the addition of six self-checkout stations.
