Costco reports higher sales in May

Costco Wholesale Corp. reported net sales of $19.64 billion for the retail month of May.

The sales were up 8.1% in the month from $18.16 billion last year.

Comparable sales in Canada increased 6.7% in May, while total company sales were up 6.4%. E-commerce sales increased 15.3%

Net sales for the first 39 weeks of the fiscal year were $186.07 billion, an increase of 6.9 percent from $174.07 billion last year.
