Costco reports higher sales in September

Annual fees for club members went up by $5 to $10 in the U.S. and Canada last month.

Costco Wholesale Corp. reported net sales of $24.6 billion for the real month of September, up from $22.6 billion last year.

Comparable sales in Canada rose 5.7%. Total company sales increased 6.7% and e-commerce sales were up 22.9%. U.S. sales climbed 6.5%.

Costco said September’s total and comparable sales for September benefitted by around 2% in the U.S. and 1% and 1.5% worldwide as result of increased sales in the final week of the month, largely associated with Hurricane Helene and port strikes.

Annual fees for club members went up by $5 to $10 in the U.S. and Canada last month.
