Costco sales climb in August

Costco Wholesale Corp. reported net sales of $19.8 billion for the retail month of August as comparable sales in Canada rose 4.5%.

The club’s net sales were up 7.1% from $18.5 billion last year.

Comparable sales for the total company increased 5% and e-commerce was up 22.9%.

For the 16-week fourth quarter, the company reported net sales of $78.2 billion, an increase of 1% compared to net sales of $77.4 billion in the 17-week fourth quarter of fiscal year 2023.
