Costco’s Canadian sales up in January, e-commerce falls 15.4%
The club reported net sales of $16.84 billion for the month
Costco’s Canadian sales were up 2.4% in January as the club reported net sales of $16.84 billion for the month, up 6.9% from $15.76 billion last year.
Overall e-commerce sales fell 15.4% in January. In the U.S., Costco grew its sales by 6.6%.
The company said the timing of Lunar New Year/Chinese New Year – which occurred ten days earlier this year, on Jan. 22 – negatively impacted January’s “other international” and “total company” sales by around 2% and 0.25%, respectively.
Costco currently operates 107 warehouses in Canada.
