Costco's sales rise to US$21.5 billion in September

Costco Wholesale Corp. reported net sales of US$21.46 billion in September as Canadian sales increased 5.7%.

Overall, the company’s sales for the month were up 10.1% from $19.5 billion last year.

In August, Costco’s Canadian sales had increased by 11.6% with net sales of US$17.55 billion for the month.

The retailer reported its fourth quarter results in September. Net sales for the period were up 15.2% to $70.76 billion, with Canadian sales increasing 13.4%.

Costco currently operates 839 warehouses, including 107 in Canada. The club opened nine net new warehouses in Q4, two being in Canada. In fiscal ‘23, it expects to open 29 additional warehouses, including 15 in the U.S. and 10 internationally.
