The Canadian Produce Marketing Association (CPMA) has appointed Greg Palmer to the newly created role of vice president of trade and market development.
Palmer previously served as procurement director, produce, for Loblaw Cos. Ltd. Before that, he spent more than six years at Costco Wholesale Canada, working his way up to the role of assistant buyer.
At CPMA, the executive will work to strengthen the association’s membership offerings and help it expand into new markets domestically and internationally.
“We are excited to welcome Greg to our team,” said Ron Lemaire, CPMA president, in a release. “His expertise in produce procurement, quality control and food safety, and his involvement in our industry,make him an invaluable addition to our sales support and trade development team.”
Palmer has served on several boards and committees including the Greenhouse Vegetables Industry Advisory Committee in 2022, CPMA’s Diversity Equity and Inclusion Working Group in 2022 and currently, the Ontario Produce Marketing Association Young Professional Network Committee.
He joins CPMA on July 15.
