As Target prepares to close the last of its 133 Canadian locations, one customer has made funeral arrangements to mark the occasion.
Harrison Jordan, a 22-year-old law student, is holding a mock funeral for the retailer on Saturday afternoon. The ceremony will be held outside Target's Stockyards location. Jordan claims he became Target's first Canadian customer when he purchased a Snickers bar at the grand opening of the Guelph, Ont. store in 2013.
"Just like Doug Ford and Roll Up The Rim, Target is something that has been taken away from Canadians way too soon," reads the Facebook event. "As we mourn, Target deserves a proper and sombre send-off on the last day of sales."
The event states black funeral attire is mandatory, and a bagpipe player will be in attendance.
