Research on yogurt sales in Europe finds that health claims matter
The European Union is no longer allowing probiotic health claims on yogurt products. But in Switzerland, which isn’t part of the EU, the claims are still allowed.
So will yogurt sales be higher in Switzerland than the rest of Europe? The short answer is yes, according to a write-up from Euromonitor analyst Diana Cowland.
Cowland anticipates that probiotic and prebiotic yogurt will experience a slight sales decline in most of Europe over the next five years but that sales in Switzerland will go up.
