Empire Company Limited marks six years of youth mental health initiative

What: In partnership with the The Sobey Foundation and Canada’s Children’s Hospital Foundations (CCHF), the parent company is entering its sixth year of funding and raising awareness for early intervention and crisis prevention programs through local children’s hospital foundations through its Family of Support initiative.
From Sept. 18 to Oct. 5 (Sept. 4 to 24 in Quebec), customers can donate at their local Empire Family of Brands store or online at FamilyofSupport.ca. Additionally, they can double their impact by donating between Sept. 29 and Oct. 5, when Empire Family of Brands will match customer donations up to $500,000.

Since launching in 2020, the initiative has helped children’s hospitals across Canada treat and assess more than 220,000 children and youth. According to a press release, it has provided support to Canada’s 13 children’s hospitals cumulatively adding and enhancing close to 100 treatment spaces, training more than 17,000 mental health professionals and care providers, performing over 98,000 assessments and treating over 128,000 children and youth.
To date, Empire Family of Brands, The Sobey Foundation, and CCHF have raised and donated $21.7 million in funds and in-kind support. 100% of funds raised go directly to local early intervention programs throughout Canada.
