Empire’s Family of Support initiative returns for seventh year
Who: Empire Company Ltd.
What: The food and pharmacy retailer’s Family of Support initiative returns for its seventh annual fundraising campaign in support of child and youth mental health across Canada.
In partnership with The Sobey Foundation and Canada’s Children’s Hospital Foundations (CCHF), the initiative invests in and raises awareness for early intervention and crisis prevention programs through local children’s hospital foundations.
From Sept. 17 to Oct. 4 (Oct. 7 in Quebec), shoppers can donate at their local Empire-owned store or online at FamilyofSupport.com.
They can double their impact by donating between Sept. 28 and Oct. 4 when Empire will match customer donations up to $500,000.
Shoppers can also support the campaign through the purchase of Compliments Rainbow Sprinkle Crispy Rice Squares, with 50 cents from every box sold being donated to the Family of Support initiative.
Family of Support has helped children’s hospitals across Canada treat and assess almost 300,000 kids in its first six years. Since 2020, the initiative has enabled Canada’s 13 children’s hospitals cumulatively to add and enhance close to 140 treatment spaces, train nearly 22,000 professionals and care providers, perform over 146,000 assessments and serve nearly 150,000 children and youth.
To date, Empire Family of Brands and The Sobey Foundation have raised and donated more than $25.2 million in funds and in-kind support. 100% of funds raised go directly to local early intervention programs.
