Enter your store into the Community Service Awards

5/26/2011

Canadian Grocer is now accepting nominations for the 2011 Canadian Grocer Community Service Awards.

Launched last year to great success, the Community Service Awards recognize grocery stores and supermarkets across the country that are doing wonderful things to support their towns.

“Whether it’s working with food banks and charities, providing scholarship opportunities to students or stepping up in some other way when there’s a need, we know that grocers are out there every day supporting their communities. As the only national magazine for the Canadian grocery industry, we want to recognize their achievements,” says Rob Gerlsbeck, editor of Canadian Grocer.

Entering your store into the awards is easy. Just click here and fill out a brief nomination form telling us about your store’s community service initiative.

To qualify, your store (or stores) must be in Canada and the initiative must have taken place during 2010 or be an annual event. The initiative can be something led by your store or done in partnership with a community organization.

If you are a manufacturer or distributor, you can nominate a retailer you know at the same website (www.canadiangrocer.com/microsite/csa)

Winners will be chosen by a panel of retailing and philanthropic experts and be featured in Canadian Grocer and Chatelaine magazines. The deadline to enter has been extended to July 15, 2011.

The Canadian Grocer Community Service Awards are sponsored by Campbell’s, General Mills and Chatelaine.
