Co-op's Community Spaces program supports local projects dedicated to recreation and conservation

Who: Federated Co-operatives Limited’s Co-op Community Spaces program.

What: Co-op is making available $1 million to support local projects dedicated to recreation, environmental conservation and urban agriculture through its Co-op Community Spaces program. 

Non-profit organizations, registered charities or community service co-operatives can apply online to receive between $25,000 and $150,000 in funding.

The deadline to apply is March 1. The $1 million is available to support capital projects dedicated to recreation, environmental conservation and urban agriculture

Since 2015, Co-op Community Spaces has provided $10.5 million to 147 projects in three categories: recreation, environmental conservation, and urban agriculture.

“Co-ops have been supporting their local communities for years because we believe that communities thrive when there are opportunities to connect, grow and learn,” said Pam Skotnitsky, vice-president of strategy at Federated Co-operatives Limited, in a press release.

“Now more than ever, we’re proud to invest in projects that will preserve nature and create places where we can come together, build relationships and support one another,” she added.
