FCL taps Debbie Unick to oversee ag, consumer business transformation

Debbie Unick, one of Canadian Grocer’s 2022 Star Women, has taken up the role of director of ag and consumer business transformation at Federated Co-op.

The 18-month term position, a newly created role, will see Unick provide business leadership and support to several projects, including supply chain and point of sale transformation.

Unick has been with FCL for more than 21 years, serving as director of centre store food for the last two years. 

As part of this transition, the food and ag and home business analysis teams will report to the executive, and she will report to VP of ag and consumer products, Ron Healey.

FCL has also tapped Tim Lalach for an 18-month term position as director of centre store food. 

Lalach, who has been with the company for 11 years, took up the role September 1, reporting to Ron Wekle, associated VP, food.  

He previously led FCL’s store brands team before becoming category development manager for centre store.

Prior to joining FCL, Lalach had a 23-year career with Loblaws in a variety of leadership roles in Saskatoon, Calgary and Toronto.
