FedEx has announced an agreement with Metro's Quebec-based discount banner Super C to house full-service FedEx Authorized ShipCentres in its stores.
"In a market as competitive as ours, it's vital to differentiate ourselves and to provide value to our consumers," Jean-Guy Tremblay, vice-president of operations said in a press release. "Having FedEx counters is an additional asset, for both our regular customers for people using teh FedEx counters, who will now be able to complete their purchases with us."
ShipCentres will be built in two phases in most of Super C's 86 stores throughout Quebec. In the first phase, roughly 40 stores will become authorized ShipCentres by the end of Jan. 2015.
The agreement represents the largest opportunity for FedEx Express and FedEx Ground retail growth in Quebec to date.
