Food Banks Canada names a new CEO
Food Banks of Canada's board of directors has appointed Christopher Hatch as its new chief executive officer. He starts his new role Jan. 8.
Hatch is currently executive director at The Mississauga Food Bank, a position he has held since 2009. He has been credited with The Mississauga Food Bank moving into a new and expanded warehouse and implementing a sophisticated inventory management system, among other accomplishments.
Most recently, Hatch launched the first aquaponics farm at a food bank, to ensure fresh produce and fish could be shared with food bank recipients across the city.
"Chris' innovative and entrepreneurial spirit and his ability to bring people together will bring the energy needed to steer the network through its next phase of growth in our work to help Canadians most in need," said Allan Cosman, chair, Food Banks Canada board of directors.
