Food Basics held a virtual ribbon-cutting ceremony for its first-ever location in Bolton, Ont.--Caledon's largest urban centre, approximately 50 kilometres northwest of Toronto.
At nearly 30,000 square feet, the new Bolton store features organic produce, fresh rotisserie chicken and a wide assortment of the grocer's Irresistibles and Selection private-label products.
“During these times when the community is supporting each other in any way possible, we look forward to serving local residents with quality products at always great prices,” said John Manax, vice-president of operations, Food Basics, in a press release.
The Metro-owned discount banner modified grand opening festivities to the new Bolton location in light of COVID-19. Instead of the traditional ribbon cutting to mark the grand opening of the store, Food Basics shared a 60-second video with a congratulatory message from Caledon mayor Allan Thompson. The video ends with store manager Bernie Gallo cutting the ribbon.
