Food delivery service in Edmonton expands

9/14/2011

The Good Food Box, a non-profit food-delivery service in Edmonton is bringing more food to more people in less time with next-day delivery option between Tuesday and Friday.

Also, the organization that began in 2010 has also teamed up with The Organic Box, a home-delivery service that focuses on organic imports.

Customers can pick from a menu of some 800 products that are competitively priced to grocery store products.

The organization currently has about 150 subscribers who pay a delivery fee of $8 to $10 (a fee that's waived with a minimum order) to have a cooler deposited on their doorsteps, full of staples and specialty products such as Ocean Odyssey sustainable seafood and Prairie Mill chocolate banana bread.

The Good Food Box gives one per cent of its revenue back to the community in the form of food vouchers to places such as the Mennonite Centre for Newcomers.
