Food retailers big winners at Excellence in Retailing Awards
Food retailers were big winners at the Retail Council of Canada’s 2021 Excellence in Retailing Awards held Tuesday evening.
Save-On-Foods, London Drugs, Federated Co-operatives Limited, Longo’s and Sobeys were among the winners recognized during a virtual gala as part of RCC’s four-day STORE conference.
In a press release, RCC made note of how fierce the competition was this year, with ties awarded for first place in six of 10 categories.

"Retailers in Canada have experienced a challenging year. They have had to change, adapt, and grow quickly, yet they are also motivated by the challenge of change. They are constantly innovating and proving their winning creativity," said Diane J. Brisebois, president and CEO of Retail Council of Canada, in the release.
"The year's ERA recipients have demonstrated ingenuity and steadfast commitment to superior customer service, progressive business solutions, and operational leadership,” she said.
