Galen Weston Jr., George Clooney most gentlemanly

Galen Weston Jr. and George Clooney best represent the modern gentleman, according to a recent survey of Canadians.

Thirty-five per cent of those polled thought the Loblaw’s executive chairman was Canada’s most gentlemanly, while 51% found actor/activist George Clooney to be the best modern-day gentleman.

Weston Jr. polled ahead of other well-known Canadian men, including Pittsburg Penguins star Sidney Cosby (23%); singer Michael Buble (21%) and actor Ryan Reynolds (19%).

Among respondents, integrity was the quality that is most indicative of a true gentleman ((54%); while honour (17%), loyalty and generosity (tied at 12%), ranked second and third respectively.

Chivas Regal Scotch whisky conducted the survey. Interestingly, those polled also felt that Canadian men are the most gentlemanly in the world; while American men are the least.
