Get ready for highly personalized shopping experiences

From augented reailty and virtual reality, experts say more personalized shopping is just around the corner

Tesco, Target and Walmart are all experimenting with virtual reality to further personalize shopping experiences for its customers. This virtual reality, which uses computer simulated 3D environment through screens or wireless glasses along with augmented reality, which uses technology to alter the physical environment with sound, images or words, will all be commonplace in retail stores in five years, say experts. Some of the new technology will even be rolled out this year as bricks and mortar retailers compete with online retailer Amazon. Silicon Valley companies such as Accenture, Matterport and Tobii have been meeting with retailers to showcase their new technologies, according to reports. To read more, go here.
