H.Y. Louie’s new appointment

Gary Sorenson has been named executive vice-president at B.C.’s H.Y. Louie.

He takes over Win MacIntyre, who is retiring in early 2012.

Sorenson will join the company on Nov. 2, and brings some 30 years of retail experience with organizations such as Loblaws, Penner Foods, and The Oshawa Food Group/Sobeys.

Most recently, he was vice-president, retail operations and vice-president consumer goods at Thrifty Foods.
