Ice cream for climate change!
Nobody wants to eat melted ice cream; after all, "If it's melted, it's ruined" – that's the stance Ben & Jerry's takes both with its ice and when it comes to the issue of climate change.
The ice cream maker, well known for taking up social and environmental causes, recently launched Save Our Swirled, a new raspberry swirl with fudge flavour that's more than just an ice cream, it's a call to action.
Recognizing that 2015 is a critical year for climate change, with the UN Climate Summit taking place in Paris later this year, Ben & Jerry's says: “We created a flavour to bring attention to this historic issue and to send out our own SOS for the planet."
To coincide with the launch, Ben & Jerry's released a video urging its fans to join the global climate movement and take action by signing a petition that demands world leaders do what it takes to reverse the trend of climate change by shifting to 100% clean energy by 2050.
