iPhone app calculates calories through food pictures
Counting calories just got easier with a new iPhone app, called MealSnap that gives a calorie read out after taking a picture of the meal with the phone.
Developed by DailyBurn, a fitness social network, after a picture is taken of a meal it’s matched against a database of some 500,000 food items. Users are then sent an alert with a range of calories for the photographed meal.
MealSnap also serves as a food diary, allowing users to keep a visual food journal of eaten meals and is available on the iTunes store for US$2.99.
