Kevin O'Leary talks Canadian grocers
Kevin O'Leary is certainly not known for subtlety.
The popular Canadian business popularity has made a name off of his straight shooting approach to money.
O'Leary (A.K.A. Mr. Wonderful) is known by many Canadians for his role on Dragons' Den. He currently appears on the U.S. version of the show, Shark Tank, in a similar role.
On both shows, O'Leary is blunt when it comes to what businesses he sees as worth his time or investment—and it turns out the grocery industry isn't one of them.
In a recent interview on BNN, O'Leary told host Catherine Murray that he has no interest in grocery.
"I don't buy grocers, not because one is better than the other or they're mismanaged—the margins are just horrible in that business," he said.
"I don't know of a worse business for margins than food," he added.
