Kraft tackles hunger

Food Banks Canada and Kraft Canada are calling on Canadians to help the hungry in their communities by donating much needed funds to Canadian food banks through the Kraft Hunger Challenge.

The campaign kicks off on Hunger Awareness Day (May 31) and runs until June 10, with Kraft matching donations made to participating Canadian food banks dollar-for-dollar up to a maximum of $200,000.

In 2010, food banks across Canada assisted close to 900,000 Canadians each month - the highest level ever reported while over the last two years, food bank use in Canada has risen by 28%.

Over the past seven years, the annual Kraft Hunger Challenge has raised more than $3.5 million for food banks across Canada.
