Kruger Products and The Science Teachers' Association of Ontario have joined forces  to teach the next generation.

The pair announced on Tuesday the launch of 13 classroom modules to teach elementary and high school science students the value and real world application of sustainability.

The curriculum covers topics such as consumer awareness, technology innovation, renewable energy, environmental issues, fibre, corporate responsibility and environmental certifications, using Kruger as a key case study.

Classroom discussions and group projects will work to help students understand the importance of sustainability. The modules will teach students how to identify sustainable products and the importance of natural resources used in the manufacturing of products we use every day.

"Kruger Products is a tissue company, therefore managing our use of natural resources in a sustainable way is key to our ongoing success," said Steven Sage, vice-president of sustainability at Kruger. "And as the Canadian leader in our industry, we believe that we have a responsibility to lead through example. What better way to educate the youth, who will be the leaders of tomorrow.

Kruger Products Inc., the leading manufacturer of tissue and paper products in Ontario, has been a long-time sustainability advocate. Their Sustainability 2015 initiative is a widely-publicized five-year plan to reduce its environmental footprint and benefit its communities.
