Legends and up-and-comers gather at Golden Pencil Awards 2012

It was a who's who of the industry who turned out for the 2012 Golden Pencil Awards on Monday at the Royal York Hotel in Toronto.

A record crowd paid tribute to Les Mann of Walmart and Paul and Michael Higgins of Mother Parkers Tea and Coffee as they received the Golden Pencil Award.

The night started off with Canadian Grocer's editor, Rob Gerlsbeck, and publisher, Jennifer Litterick, presenting the 2012 Generation Next award to Matthew Malek of Sobeys and Cher Mereweather of the Alliance of Ontario Food Processors. The annual award recognizes young industry up-and-comers under the age of 40.
