Les Aliments du Quebec dans mon panier winners announced
At the annual Association des détaillants en alimentation du Québec (ADA) conference in November the winners of the “Les Aliments du Quebec dans mon panier” (Aliments du Quebec in my basket) contest were announced.
The contest in its first year saw Quebec retailers and suppliers judged in the joint marketing of a certified Aliments du Québec product or prepared food in Quebec.
The contest was a joint venture between ADA, the Quebec Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries and Alimentation du Quebec and Aliments du Quebec.
The winners were:
IGA Extra Famille Girard, Bois-des-Filion / Fermes F. Turcot et fils
Metro Plus Jean XXIII, Trois-Rivières / Les Eaux Minérales Saint-Justin
IGA Coaticook / Laiterie de Coaticook ltée
The retailers-suppliers were judged on the following criteria: originality and attractiveness of merchandising; geographic proximity of the supplier(to retailer); improvement of product positioning; and simplicity of the supply chain.
Chantal Fontaine of Aliments du Quebec said in a press release that the participants in the competition helped consumers discover the variety of products in their own backyard.
The contest also engaged consumers during the summer at grocery stores by asking them to identify three foods certified by Aliments du Québec then go to www.concoursalimentsduquebec.com for the chance to win up to $500 of food every week.
Some 31,000 consumers participated in the contest and grand prize winner, Jonathan Morin, won a Îles-de-la-Madeleine cruise valued at approximately $ 5,000.
