Liquid Tahina recalled over salmonella concerns
Recall covers product sold in Quebec, but could extend nationally based on investigation results
Alwatania Liquid Tahina has been recalled over concerns it is contaminated with salmonella.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) said the recall was triggered by test results and included 350-gram jars with UPC 6 224007 246221 and a best before date of May 19, 2021.
Though the recall currently only covers product sold in Quebec, CFIA said it could expand the recall nationally based on the results of its food safety investigation.
There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of this product.
